10th session of the Arab Climate Outlook Forum (ArabCOF) and 7th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council Climate Outlook Forum (GCC-COF)

10th session of the Arab Climate Outlook Forum (ArabCOF) and 7th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council Climate Outlook Forum (GCC-COF) took place virtually on 1 and 5 December 2022. The sessions aimed at producing the seasonal forecasting for the winter months (December-January-February) and evaluating the previous climate outlook on the seasonal forecast for the summer months (June-July-August). In addition, participants discussed the need for objective forecasting in order to better respond to specific sectoral needs, such as the agriculture sector. Participants also discussed the importance of carrying out sub-seasonal forecasting especially for predicting extreme weather events which would better serve early warning systems.
