4th Arab Climate Outlook Forum

The fourth session of the ArabCOF was hosted by the General Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Protection (GAMEP) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on 26-28 November 2019. The meeting mainly aimed to evaluate and validate previous outlook comparing with observed values, discuss seasonal forecasts for the boreal winter (December 2019 to February 2020) across the entire Arab region, and develop seasonal outlooks for each of the North Africa and Arabian Peninsula sub-regions. The forum also comprised consultations on the ways outputs from the regional climate outlook forums can assist various stakeholders in managing climate risks. Finally, consensus seasonal forecast statements for the different sub-regions (ArabCOF, GCCCOF, PRESANORD) were issued for December 2019 to February 2020 season.
