The 9th session of the Arab Climate Outlook Forum (ArabCOF) and 6th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council Climate Outlook Forum (GCC-COF) took place virtually on 29 and 30 May 2022. The sessions aimed at producing the seasonal forecasting for the summer months (June-July-August) and evaluating the previous climate outlook on the seasonal forecast for the winter months (December-January-February). In addition, a case study was presented on analyzing sand and dust storms and developing mitigation measures through joint projects between some Arab countries. The Weather and Climate Information Services for Middle East and North project (WISER) supported by the United Kingdom was also presented and discussed. The sessions concluded with discussions over the capacity building needs on seasonal forecasting and sand and dust storms analysis.
