Fostering Certainty through Green Innovation in the MENA Region 28 September 2023 5-7 pm (Beirut time)

The American University of Beirut Nature Conservation Center is organizing a hybrid panel discussion on Fostering Certainty through Green Innovation in the MENA Region.  The panel will focus on water scarcity, food insecurity and climate-induced inequalities and how these regional challenges exacerbate conflict, displacement and poverty.  RICCAR findings will be presented as a way to better understanding the impact of climate change the region, and ways that regional climate projections and vulnerability assessments can inform regional action and innovation. Discussions will also explore the importance of collaboration, capacity building and financial instruments for implementing innovative solutions for a greener and more sustainable future.

About Riccar

The central aim of this Regional Knowledge Hub is to provide access to information that can facilitate cooperation, coordination, dialogue and exchange among Arab States, organizations and stakeholder and to support awareness raising as well as regional networking and exchange on issues related to climate change and water resources in the region. Access to RICCAR assessment findings and associated datasets is being made available on this Regional Knowledge Hub, which is comprised of two open-access components: a website and a data portal. This online platform complements, and builds upon, the findings and processes already presented in the main report and its technical annex, as well as the series of publications that elaborate further on the work being pursued collectively under RICCAR.
