Guidelines for accessing CORDEX regional climate projections
Lead Author: The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD)

Description

The present technical note serves as an explanatory reference to access regional climate modelling (RCM) outputs developed as part of the Coordinated Regional Climate Downscaling Experiment (CORDEX), conducted within the framework of the Regional Initiative for the Assessment of Climate Change Impacts on Water Resources and Socio-Economic Vulnerability in the Arab Region (RICCAR). The intention is to inform users where to access raw RCM outputs (non-bias-corrected) and other climate data projections not evaluated as part of RICCAR within the Arab domain.

Details regarding CORDEX modelling activities can be obtained in the RICCAR technical note “Regional Climate Modelling and Regional Hydrological Modelling Applications in the Arab Region”.

About Riccar

The central aim of this Regional Knowledge Hub is to provide access to information that can facilitate cooperation, coordination, dialogue and exchange among Arab States, organizations and stakeholder and to support awareness raising as well as regional networking and exchange on issues related to climate change and water resources in the region. Access to RICCAR assessment findings and associated datasets is being made available on this Regional Knowledge Hub, which is comprised of two open-access components: a website and a data portal. This online platform complements, and builds upon, the findings and processes already presented in the main report and its technical annex, as well as the series of publications that elaborate further on the work being pursued collectively under RICCAR.
